What is the Employment Pass and who is it for?
The Singapore Employment Pass (EP) is a work visa that allows professionals to legally work in Singapore. To qualify, an applicant must earn a fixed monthly salary of at least $3,300 and have good educational or professional background.
Who can apply for the Employment Pass?
The Singapore Employment Pass application can be made only by the employer. Hence, its validity is tied to the same employer. Consequently, a change in employers or jobs will require a new pass application.
There are 3 categories of Singapore Employment Passes and they are as follows:
|Employment Pass Category||Minimum Fixed Monthly Salary||Qualifications|
|P1||S$8000||Good degree, professional qualification or specialist skills|
|P2||S$4500||Good degree, professional qualification or specialist skills|
|Q1||S$3300 – for young graduates
(Older applicants must command higher salaries that are commensurate with their experience).
